Section 1 of 5 — Hardware Setup
Setting up your PM7
Everything you need is in the box. Build it step by step before touching anything on screen.

Turn the PM7 face down
You'll see three keyhole slots on the back. The stand's prongs lock into these.

Prongs facing the slots. Push in then slide upwards to lock.

Flat against the back, no wobble. Turn it upright — it should stand on its own.

Micro-USB into PM7 bottom port
Plug the small end into the PM7
The micro-USB end goes into the port on the bottom edge of the PM7.

USB-A into black adapter
Plug the large end into the adapter
The USB-A end (large, flat) into the black adapter. Then into the wall and switch on.
Place the PM7 next to your TV speaker — it listens to the audio.

Batteries into remote
Load the remote batteries
Open the compartment on the back. Insert both AA batteries following the +/− markings. Close and press any button to test.
Section 2 of 5 — TV Sensor Plug
Connecting the TV Sensor Plug
This sits between your TV's plug and the wall. It's how the panel knows when your TV is on or off.

PULL OUT Unplug from the wall socket Leave lead connected to TV
Unplug your TV from the wall
Pull the TV lead out of the wall socket only. Leave the other end connected to the TV.

Plug your TV lead into the sensor plug
Push your TV's plug into the socket on the white box. One way only — check the orientation if it doesn't go in.

Blue light = working Plug into wall → switch on TV powers up as normal
Plug the whole unit into the wall
Sensor plug with TV lead attached → wall socket → switch on. TV powers up as normal.
Blue light ring = connected and working.
Section 3 of 5 — Broadband
Connecting the Broadband Meter
The small black box connects to your router. It won't affect your broadband speed.

Connect the meter to your router
Plug one end of the ethernet cable into the black meter. Plug the other end into a yellow LAN port on the back of your router. Never use the grey WAN port.

Ethernet cable runs from the black meter to any free yellow LAN port on your router — never the grey WAN port

Broadband meter powered on
Plug in and switch on
Power cable into the side of the meter → adapter into wall → switch on. A small light appears on the meter confirming it's on.
Leave it here permanently. Don't move it once set up.
Section 4 of 5 — Software Setup
Setting up the PM7 on screen
Your technician guides you through every screen over the phone. The screens below show exactly what you'll see on your PM7.

Select Peoplemeter mode
Tap Peoplemeter → tap Next.

Set the date and time
Tap Start Setup → use the arrows to set today's date and time (UTC — your technician confirms) → tap Next.

Connect to your Wi-Fi
Tap Yes → select your home network → enter your Wi-Fi password → tap Next.
Check the sticker on the back or bottom of your router.

Enter your registration key
Your technician reads this out. Type it carefully on the Registration Setup screen → tap Next.

Pick avatars for everyone in the house
Use the filters — gender, age, hair, skin tone — to match each person. Tap Next when done.

PM7 scans for the TV Sensor Plug
Wait for the scan. When the device is found its address shows on screen — tap Next. Turn your TV on. An orange line appears on the graph.

Calibrate the TV threshold
Flick through channels, apps and inputs. Use +/− to adjust the level → tap Done. Your technician advises the right value.

Leave Built-in Microphone selected. Set volume to 20 → tap Save. Tap Next on both sensor screens.

Section 5 of 5 — Final Step
Pairing the Bluetooth remote
Links the remote to the PM7 so everyone can press their avatar before watching.

Hold OK and + on the remote together
Hold both buttons at the same time until the red light flashes. Keep holding — don't let go early.

Scan on the PM7 → Pair → Finish
Tap Scan. When NGPM Handset appears tap Pair. Once it says "Pairing process successful" tap Finish.
All done!
Your PM7 is fully installed and connected. Your technician will run a quick line test before signing off. Thank you for being part of The Origin Panel.
